I’d been putting this series off for ages, despite everyone telling me I had to read it. Well, that’ll teach me. 😂
I devoured Red Rising in a day—the first time I’ve read a book that quickly in well over a decade!
Pierce Brown’s story follows Darrow, a Red living beneath the surface of Mars. Reds are at the bottom of a rigid, colour-coded society ruled by the powerful Golds. Darrow believes in his purpose and the world he knows, until a devastating loss forces him to question everything.
What follows is the beginning of something much bigger: the seeds of rebellion.
The Braveheart soundtrack felt like the perfect choice for this review. The anger, injustice and growing desire to fight back fit Darrow’s journey perfectly.
Brutal, gripping and packed with high stakes, Red Rising is a fantastic start to the series. I’ve already bought the full series, so thankfully I don’t have to wait to find out what happens next! 🔥
Have you read Red Rising? Does the series keep getting better?
